Instead of clicking on the up arrow to go through the previously typed commands, you can do this.
Type `history`. It will show a numbered list of all typed commands.
To select a command: `!#`. # is the number of the command.
`!!` will run the last command.
`!?search_term` to search for a fixed command.
`history | grep search_term` will show all the commands with the search_term in history.
